Fishing Report 17-4-18

The weather of late has been less than great, wind and rain, they are a pain. However it looks like we are heading into some great weather this weekend! The inclose reefs around noosa have been on fire with the mackerel, The gneerings has seen some solid grassy sweetlip and a few jew. Caloundra 12 mile has been quite active as well from most recent reports. This period now post, bad weather conditions, moving into higher pressures, including the new moon phase is really a key factor in increasing fish activity. So the next week or so should be the "TIME" to go.

As soon as we see the sanddrift and swell/sweep start to drop off, the local beaches should start to offer up quality whiting, flathead, bream and the odd tarwhine and jew.

Sugapen, Sugapen, Sugapen! The go too lure at the moment for the whiting. The Jackson EBI Panic also a solid contender for the tings' too! Small micro jigs the go at the moment for the golden trevally about the moorings and small yellow 50mm style poppers the hatch for the trevs in the local lake. Flathead also in good numbers on the dropping tides with the zerek lures a stand out performer.

Bass , saratoga in borumba along the margins, bass in the deeper spots of ewen maddock dam on ice jigs.
